Bengaluru, May 28: Former President of Bangalore City Bar Association and legal advisor to many organizations, K.N. Putte Gowda, who had a simple and elegant personality, passed away today. He was suffering from ill health and breathed his last at 2 am today, according to family sources.

He successfully handled several burning issues and was close to the government and the common people, and provided justice through advocacy. Putte Gowda is credited with presenting his arguments with witnesses in the courts to clear encroachment of government land in several places across the state.

The loss of such a great personality and great spirit has caused an irreparable loss to the entire Karnataka legal community and the public community. Several organizations and institutions including the Bangalore Bar Association, Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthan Math, Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha have expressed their condolences, praying to God for the repose of his soul and for the strength to bear the grief of his family.

I am deeply saddened to learn that senior lawyer and close friend K.N. Puttegowda has passed away today. May God grant his soul eternal rest and grant his family and close friends the strength to bear the grief, Union Minister V. Somanna has expressed his condolences.
