Mumbai, May 26: A sad news has come from the Bhojpuri film industry. Veteran actor Gopal Rai, known for his natural acting and simplicity, has passed away. He was 76 years old. He belonged to Madhaul in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. He had created a unique identity for himself in the Bhojpuri film industry.
Gopal Rai has worked with many big Bhojpuri artists and has received many prestigious awards like the Bhojpuri Film Award and the Bihar Film Award for his best acting. It is reported that his funeral will be held on Monday, May 26 at Rewa Ghat.
38 years of work in the film industry:
Gopal Rai has mostly played supporting roles in his career. However, it was through supporting roles that he earned a special place in people's hearts. He was a part of the film industry for the last 38 years. He started his career as an assistant cameraman with the film 'Ganga Kinare Mora Gaon' released in 1987. He also appeared in a small role in this film.
After starting his career, Gopal Rai became a part of many good films one after the other. He has worked in more than 100 films in his career.
He was a part of many big star films including Khesari Lal Yadav's film 'Raja Jani', Pawan Singh's 'Challenge', Nirahua's film 'Nirahua Chale London' and 'Nirahua Chale America'. He also did action roles in many films.
Gopal Rai used to win people's hearts with his excellent acting whenever he appeared on screen. There was simplicity and calmness in his acting, which people liked. His sudden departure is a big shock to the Bhojpuri industry. Bhojpuri cinema will always miss him.
His films like Nadia Ke Paar, Ganga Kinare Mora Gaon, Nirahua Hindustani proved to be blockbusters. Former MP and actor Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua and actress Amrapali Dubey had visited his home two years ago to meet him after he returned to his village from Mumbai due to illness four years ago.
