Mangalore:  Department of Microbiology, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangalore, in collaboration with Inner wheel club of Mangalore North,  in view of world breastfeeding week organised a guest lecture on the topic "Breastfeeding Awareness" on 3 August 2023. Mitra Prabhu was the resource person of the day.

The session began with a meaningful prayer led by Calvina and team.  Mitra Prabhu, Dietician and Nutritionist, Zulekha College of Nursing, Mangalore; Geetha Rai, President; Dr. Bharathi Prakash, Secretary and Aruna Jalan, ISO, Inner wheel club of Manglore North;  Prajwal Rao,HOD, Dept of Microbiology, were present on the dias. Rifha from final year B.Sc. welcomed the gathering.

Mithra Prabhu, enlightened the students on the importance of a well balanced diet, components of mother's milk and the value of mother's milk in the development of immunity. She highlighted a few facts about working women which gave meaningful  insights to the students.

It was an educative and  informative session. Around 200 students from various streams, faculty members and a few members from Inner wheel club participated in this session. 

Prajwal Rao, HOD, Department of Microbiology presented a memento as a token of love and appreciation to the resource person and Khushi from third BSc rendered vote of thanks.

Final year Microbiology Students - Tanvi, Hafsah, Boomika, Apoorva, Natasha and Krithi were the volunteers for the Program.
