Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank bags 4 ASSOCHAM Awards

26 Feb 2019 Mangalore : S Ravindran, Chairman of KVGB, seen receiving Prestigious ASSOCHAM awards from Ananda Sinha former Deputy Governor, RBI at a function organized by ASSOCHAM at Mumbai on Tuesday.

The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) have presented four Awards to Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVGB) under the following categories: Agricultural Banking, Priority Sector Lending other than agriculture ,Technology & Overall Best social banking

Under its Social Banking Excellence Awards 2018 in the "Regional Rural Banks - large Category". Mr. Ananda Sinha former Deputy Governor, RBI handed over the award to S Ravindran Chairman, KVGB at the 14th Annual Banking Summit held at Mumbai on Tuesday.

The award is in recognition of the significant initiatives undertaken by KVG Bank in the sphere of rural banking including Agriculture, technology, priority sector lending other than agriculture, implementation of Government sponsored schemes and the excellent work done in elevating and uplifting the life of the people from all strata of society.

Speaking on the occasion, KVGB chairman.S Ravindran said that in order to strengthen the rural credit delivery system and motivate agriculturists to continue with their profession and generate regular income, the bank has launched several schemes including integrated farming system. Technology-wise the bank has introduced all most all the banking technologies and the Bank is also live on UPI and USSD. Bank is actively implementing social welfare schemes of the Government, namely PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY etc and the progress achieved by the Bank has been recognized by the Government. The Bank is also participating in Government sponsored schemes such as PMMY, PMAY, PMEGP, NRLM, NULM etc. The Bank has made commendable performance under Financial Inclusion also Mr. Ravindran added. Other than agriculture, the Bank is also lending to a few specific sectors like allied activities, micro and small enterprises, housing, education and other loans related to MSME. This is essentially meant for an all-round development of the economy said Mr. Ravindran.
