Mangalore: Father Muller Medical College hosted a two-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) program, as a part of the Silver Jubilee celebration of the Medical College, for postgraduate ENT students preparing for their university examinations. Organized by the Department of ENT, the dedicated team consisted of Dr Vinay V Rao (Organizing chairman), Dr Savita Lasrado (Organizing secretary) and Dr Deekshith Shetty (Joint organising secretary).
The program commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony, presided over by Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho (Director, FMCI), Rev. Fr. Ajith Menezes (Administrator, FMMC),
Dr Antony Sylvan (Dean, FMMC), and other dignitaries.
Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho expressed gratitude for hosting the PG CME at Father Muller for the first time, coinciding with the silver jubilee of the medical college and extended best wishes for all the attending post graduates for their upcoming examinations.
Dr Vinay Rao (Professor and Head, ENT Department) welcomed participants and emphasized the program's significance. Dr Savita Lasrado (Associate Professor, ENT) delivered the vote of thanks, while Dr Sweekritha Bhat (Senior Resident, ENT) conducted the inaugural ceremony.
Day one featured sessions on Otology, Rhinology, Laryngology, and Head and Neck case presentations by postgraduate students from various institutes of Mangalore and Manipal and were assessed by the esteemed examiners.
Day two included panel discussions on clinical exam expectations, an open Q&A session, and guidance on OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) pattern. Feedback was taken from the delegates for future improvements. The program concluded with felicitations for participating faculty and lunch.
