Mangaluru: Amid rising communal tension following two murders in Dakshina Kannada district within a month, the Karnataka government on Thursday transferred several senior IPS officers, including the Mangaluru Police Commissioner and the Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police.
Udupi superintendent of police Dr Arun K has been transferred and posted as the new superintendent of police for Dakshina Kannada district.
Dr Arun K, who was serving as the Superintendent of Police in Udupi district, has been posted as the new SP of Dakshina Kannada. He replaces SP N Yathish.
Anupam Agrawal, who was serving as the Mangaluru City Police Commissioner, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Economic Offences, CID. He is replaced by Sudheer Kumar Reddy as the new Police Commissioner of Mangaluru.
In other changes, Hariram Shankar has been posted as the new Superintendent of Police for Udupi district.
Sudheerkumar Reddy will take over as the deputy inspector general and new police commissioner of Mangaluru city.
