Bengaluru, May 29: Amruthahalli police have arrested a Senegalese national from Africa who was selling drugs in an empty space behind a school under the pretext of selling clothes and seized 3 kg of MDMA crystals worth Rs 3 crore.

The arrested accused is a foreign national who had come to Bengaluru in 2023 in search of work on an employment visa. The police have received information that a foreign national is selling MDMA crystals to youths in an empty space behind North Hills School in Dasarahalli.

Based on this information, a case was registered under the NDPS Act at the police station, rushed to the spot, detained the foreign national and when questioned, he said that he had committed the act with the intention of earning more money.

During the lengthy interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that he had come to India from abroad in 2023 in search of work and had been residing in the city even though his visa had expired. Later, police investigation revealed that he had purchased MDMA crystals at a low price from another foreigner in Kamanahalli, Banaswadi and was selling them at a higher price to the general public and college students of the city under the pretext of trading in clothes. This operation was carried out by Inspector Ambareesh and a team of staff.
