Mangaluru: St Aloysius PU College celebrated Ignatian Week to honor the life, values, and legacy of St Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus. Throughout the week, we reflected on his spiritual journey, especially his deep commitment to 'finding God in all things' and living a life of love and service. The week was marked with meaningful activities, prayer services, competitions, reflections and encouraging all to grow spiritually and live purposefully.
Rev. Fr Fredrick D’Silva SJ addressed the teaching staff on “How Could We Imbibe Ignatian Values as Educators.” In his insightful talk, he emphasized the significance of reflection, compassion, and commitment in the vocation of teaching, urging educators to embody these values in their professional and personal lives.
As part of the Ignatian Week celebrations, the Campus Ministry of St Aloysius PU College organized a vibrant series of competitions and activities centered on the theme “Be an Agent of Change.” These events aimed to foster the Ignatian spirit of reflection, creativity, and social responsibility among students. Students enthusiastically participated in various events such as Canvas Clash, An Eye for a Change, Pencil Sketch, Quiz, and Wall It Your Way, each reflecting the core values of the Ignatian tradition
Rev. Fr Edward Rodrigues SJ delivered an engaging session to the students at Loyola Hall on “How Can I Live the Ignatian Values to Be a Good and Responsible Student.” He encouraged students to lead lives marked by integrity, service, and a deep sense of responsibility, in alignment with the Jesuit ideals.
A special three-day prayer session was also held, featuring reflections on the life and legacy of St Ignatius of Loyola. These sessions were led by students, teaching, and non-teaching staff, fostering a sense of spiritual unity across the campus.
Throughout the month of July, the college also shared 31 days of Ignatian insights through impactful posters and videos, highlighting the enduring legacy of St Ignatius and the Jesuit contribution to education and society.
