Mangaluru: Dr. K Shivarama Karantha Adhyayana Peeta, Mangalore University and Department of Kannada, University Evening College, Mangaluru organized “Birth Anniversary Celebration of Dr. Shivarama Karantha-Nudi Namana” on Monday, 10th October 2022 at Shivarama Karanth Bhavana.
Chief Guest Dr Narasimha Murthy R – Retired Kannada Professor, Mangaluru gave a special lecture on a Unique Personality of the Century Dr. Shivarama Karantha. He expressed that each one of us should try to inculcate the values of Dr. Karantha like achieving the impossible through dedication, Loyalty, and Vastness.
Dr. Subhashini Srivathsa, Co-ordinator of Karantha Adhyayana Peeta, Mangaluru presided over the function. She expressed that let life time spirit and inspiration of Dr. Shivarama Karantha enrich among us forever.
On this occasion an Inter collegiate Speech Competition on “Reflections of Regionalism in the writings of Dr. K Shivarama Karantha” was held. Out of 26 participants of 14 different Colleges, Ist prize was bagged by Smitha C of Govindasa College, Suratkal, IInd prize was bagged by Lathesh of University College Mangalore and the IIIrd prize was bagged by Dhanushree of Govindasa College, Suratkal.
Ashalatha, Lecturer of Kannada Welcomed the guests. Prayer was Invoked by Pavithra, Durga Menon Lecturer of Kannada composed the event. Vote of thanks was rendered by Santhosh - Lecturer of Commerce. Teaching and Non Teaching Faculty and Students were present during the programme.
