Mangaluru, Mar 12: Under the leadership of the Catholic Sabha Mangalore Region (R) South Division, along with the participation of all clergy, religious sisters, pastoral councils, various associations, Catholic educational institutions, and 21 committees, a grand marathon procession titled "Our Walk Towards the Holy Place of Mudipu" is being organized in celebration of the Silver Jubilee of St. Joseph Vaz Shrine, Mudipu on March 16, 2025 from 3pm onwards.

This walk will begin from the Daya Mata Church in Paneer and will proceed via Deralakate and Natekala routes towards the St. Joseph Vaz Shrine in Mudipu.

The event will commence with the blessings of the Bishop of Mangalore Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza. Fr. Victor D'Mello will inaugurate the marathon. In the closing ceremony, prayers will be led by Fr. Assisi Rebello and Fr. Santosh Menezes.

An estimated 5,000 participants are expected, and this spectacular event will be a spiritual gathering celebrating the great festival of the birth of Jesus Christ in 2025 and the transformation during the season of Lent.

Along with spiritual inspiration, participants will walk as a pilgrimage, to purify themselves and offer worship to God. This significant religious event is expected to inspire participants to journey towards peace and sanctity.
