Dehradun: One person was killed and five others were injured in a landslide on the Kedarnath National Highway in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand.
The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Singh Rawat. He is a resident of Lambgaon in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand.
A vehicle carrying devotees from Chhattisgarh got caught in the landslide near a pond near Guptkashi.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, teams of the State Disaster Management Force reached the spot and carried out rescue operations. The injured have been admitted to the local August Muni Hospital. Two of them are seriously injured, while the other three have minor injuries, officials said.
