Mangaluru, Sept 08: The Monthi Feast was celebrated with grandeur at Milagres Church, Mangalore. The procession with corn and first fruits began at Attavar with the statue of Infant Mary and proceeded through Sturrock Road and Mother Theresa Road to reach the church. The corn was blessed by Fr. Gerald Pinto, followed by the Holy Eucharist officiated by Dr. Michael Santhmayor. Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth, Fr. Uday Fernandes, and Fr. Robin were also present.

The Parish Priest in his sermon stressed on the significance of first fruits and the Blessed Mother as the first fruit of salvific history and thanked those involved in the feast. Participants exchanged greetings and enjoyed the breakfast served. Around 2,000 people solemnized the festival. The church, dedicated to our Blessed Mother, aptly highlighted the Birth of the Patron.
