Bengaluru: This time, school teachers will be deprived of Dussehra leave as the state government has appointed teachers for the caste survey starting from the 22nd. Even though the Dussehra leave is over, the teachers participating in the survey will not be given honorarium. Along with this, there will be no earned leave. The teaching staff has expressed great dissatisfaction with this move of the government.
1.70 lakh teachers who will participate in the survey will be trained till Sep. 19. There is a rule that if they work on holidays, they should be given earned leave. However, it has been decided not to give earned leave to teachers participating in the survey.
There are 46,757 government schools in the state, with 1.77 lakh teachers working. In 2025-26, there are 123 holidays and 242 school duty days. Despite this, teachers say they don't understand why the government is taking revenge on us like this. The teaching community has demanded that the injustice being done to teachers be corrected before too long.
