Mangaluru: A preventive detention order against Bharath Shetty (27), son of Raviraj Shetty, a resident of Ashraya Colony, Idya Village, Surathkal, under Section 3 of the Karnataka Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Gamblers, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Slum Grabbers, and Video or Audio Pirates Act, 1985 (Goonda Act) has been issued on 31/01/2025.
A total of 13 serious criminal cases have been registered against him in various police stations under Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate and Dakshina Kannada district. These include cases of murder, attempted murder (4 cases), dacoity, unlawful assembly, assault, and offenses against women, among others. Despite repeated legal actions, he has continued his criminal activities, posing a serious threat to public order and peace.
To prevent further criminal activities and maintain law and order, preventive detention action has been taken against him.
