In the wake of the murder of a man named Raheem in Kuryal under the jurisdiction of Bantwal Rural Police Station, the authorities have imposed Section 144 (prohibitory orders) across several taluks of Dakshina Kannada district.

According to a statement issued by the Tahsildar, the order will be in effect from the evening of May 27 until 6:00 PM on May 30 in the taluks of Bantwal, Belthangady, Puttur, Kadaba, and Sullia.

Following Raheem's murder, the region has witnessed rising tension, and there is a potential threat to public peace and law and order. In light of this, Dakshina Kannada District Police have enforced the prohibitory orders as a precautionary measure to prevent any untoward incidents.

Key points of the prohibitory order include:

Gathering of five or more people is strictly prohibited.

Processions, rallies, and public meetings are banned.

Carrying of weapons, such as swords, sticks, knives, guns, rods, or any object that could be used to cause physical harm, is strictly forbidden.

The order is aimed at maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety during this sensitive period.
