Mandya, April. 25: An incident of riot by non-communal youths who pelted stones at a bus for not stopping took place on Ganjam Road in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district

A group of non-communal youths pelted stones at a government bus, after which the public caught and beat the youths and handed them over to the police. The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Srirangapatna Town Police Station.

What was the incident?

A bus was going from Srirangapatna to Ganjam. At this time, instead of the bus going to Mysore, a family of non-communal youths boarded the bus going to Ganjam. The family members told the conductor that they should go to Mysore. They argued with the conductor that this was not a Mysore bus and asked him to stop the bus.

Then the conductor said that there is no stop here, that we should stop further. Meanwhile, they showed their arrogance by attacking the driver and conductor. Finally, as the bus stopped, the youths who got off pelted stones at the bus and smashed the window panes. Later, the public caught the stone-throwing youths and beat them up and handed them over to the police.
