Bengaluru: Eggs, which are a source of protein, are loved by many. Not only non-vegetarians but also some vegetarians consume eggs. But now, shocking news has come to egg lovers. News has come to light about the detection of carcinogenic elements in eggs.

A carcinogenic element has been found in eggs of a popular brand. Particles of a drug called nitrofuran have been found in eggs, which damages everything from DNA to reproductive organs and the immune system. News is also circulating that it can also cause dangerous diseases like cancer, which has shocked egg lovers. There is a lot of discussion on social media about this.

 In this context, State Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao responded that no harmful elements were found in eggs in the previous tests. However, in the wake of these new allegations, he said that instructions have been given to collect egg samples from across the state and conduct a thorough examination in labs.

If carcinogenic substances are found in the test, strict legal action will be taken against the egg producers, he said.

The tests conducted by the Food Safety Department six months ago did not find any harmful substances in the eggs. Food Safety and Drug Administration Commissioner Srinivas had clearly stated at that time that the laboratory reports showed that the eggs were safe for consumption.

Based on previous reports, the Food Safety Department had said that the eggs were safe. He said that fresh tests have been ordered in the wake of the allegations now.
