Srinagar, Nov 05: In good news for Kashmir tourism, six months after the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, film shooting has resumed in the Valley.
A Telugu film crew has started shooting in the Pahalgam tourist resort in south Kashmir's Anantnag district, the site of the April 22 terror attack.
The comedy is being directed by Vimal Krishna, known for films like 'Jessie' and 'Ladies & Gentlemen'.
Speaking to reporters, Krishna said Kashmir is completely safe for tourists and film shooting.
'I want to thank every Kashmiri. We are the first film crew to come here for shooting. I can say it is 100 per cent safe. We feel completely safe. I hope more tourists will come here in the coming days,' he said.
'We were looking for a beautiful location for the film and found it in Kashmir. I thought why not shoot in Kashmir. Now it is completely safe here. We came here in July and did not face any problem. The government, security forces and especially the locals have treated us like their family members. After completing the Pahalgam schedule, the team will continue shooting in Srinagar,' he said.
