Ullal, June 16: An accidental fire broke out on the ground floor of the Deralakatte hostel building where NRI students were staying, and it is learnt that the fire broke out in the generator room due to a short circuit.
A fire broke out in the generator room of Venkat Residency at Deralakatte Junction. It is learnt that there were NRI students studying at Mangalore University on the upper two floors, and they have been brought down safely, according to locals.
The fire brigade visited the spot and carried out the work of extinguishing the fire.
