Mangalore: Counselling Awareness Week of the ‘You Matter Counselling & Training Centre’ (YMCTC) on its first anniversary concluded on Saturday 11th March 2023 at 5pm with a Valedictory program at Ravindra Kala Bhavan of University Evening College, Hampankattain collaboration with Association of MBA(IB) Alumni.
The event was attended by the Trustees of YMCTC, Lugina Miranda, Dr. Meena Lobo, Chitralekha Gupta, Precilla D’silva, and Steevan D’Souza N. Participants of the Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling, St Agnes PG Centre (PGDGC), students and faculties of University Evening College, Mangalore, students from different institutions and members of the public.
Chief Guest Dr. Jagadeesh B., Coordinator, Department of MBA (IB) & M Com., University Evening College, spoke about finding happiness within ourselves which is freely available and also due to modernisation and various issues to address counselling is on primal need. Lugina Miranda, Director, YMCTC, also addressed the gathering and Sunitha Pereira presented a brief report of the week-long activities including the Walkathon, Free Workshops at Milagres Church Hall, and the Self Awareness program at KPT, Mangalore.
The highlight of the program was a much-awaited session by well-known Mind Trainer & Psychologist, Dr Surfraz Hasim, Principal, P. A. First Grade College, who provided insights about Mind Mapping and the techniques to apply in our daily lives. Steevan D Souza, President of the alumni association welcomed the gathering and the program was compered by Chitralekha Gupta, and Pratibha Rajat delivered the vote of thanks.
