Washington:  March 11: NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Willor's short mission to the International Space Station (ISS) has turned into a 10-month marathon as the two spacecraft finally return to Earth.

Sunita Williams and Butch Willor embarked on a 10-day mission aboard the Boeing Star Liner on June 5, 2024. But the spacecraft did not function properly during the approach and docking transitions. NASA and Boeing conducted extensive research on this and finally came to the decision that returning to Earth in the Star Liner was too dangerous.

The space shuttle returned to Earth last September without astronauts, and the astronauts had to stay there. Later, NASA decided to bring back the two pilgrims with the help of Elon Musk's SpaceX. The two Yannis stranded on the ISS were scheduled to be brought up on the Crew-9 mission, which was launched with two crew members.

Crew-9 was scheduled to return to Earth in February after a six-month stay on the ISS. But it was postponed for some adjustments. Now NASA has given permission for the launch of the Crew-10 mission.

It will be launched from the Kennedy Space Center on March 12 and will carry four astronauts. According to NASA, Crew-9 will return on March 16.
