Mangaluru Assistant Drug Controller found with illegal assets worth Rs 3.37 crore

Mangalore, April 08: Lokayukta police have simultaneously raided the house and various places of Assistant Drug Controller Babu B.N., who was working in the Regional Deputy Drug Controller’s office in Mangaluru, in connection with allegations of illegal assets. Property worth crores of rupees has been found.

Under the supervision of Superintendent of Police B.P. Dinesh Kumar, six Lokayukta teams have raided properties belonging to the accused in Bagepalli town, Bangalore city and Mangaluru in Chikkaballapur district. The raids include residential houses, commercial establishments, flats and offices belonging to Babu B.N.

During the search, it is said that movable and immovable assets worth about Rs 3.37 crore were found in addition to the proceeds. In the residence in Bangalore, along with gold and silver ornaments, Rs 23.64 lakh in cash was also found.

The Lokayukta police have registered a case against the accused under various provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is underway.
