Serial murder of 6 people by feeding them poisoned laddus; ‘Fakir Baba’ arrested in Delhi

Delhi, Feb. 12: In connection with the case of three bodies found in a car in Delhi’s Peeragarhi, the Delhi Police have arrested Fakir Baba. Investigators suspect that he has committed at least five similar murders in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. With this, the number of murders committed by him has increased to six.

The accused is Kamaruddin alias ‘Baba’, a resident of Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh. It is alleged that he used to feed people poisoned laddus in the name of puja and spiritual treatment.

In the Peeragarhi case, 76-year-old Randhir, 47-year-old Naresh Singh and 40-year-old Lakshmi Devi were found dead in their car. Fakir Baba was also with these three. Police said that he was the one who gave them the poisoned sweets. Initial investigations suggest that the victims may have eaten the laddus shortly before their deaths. A murder case has been registered in this regard and forensic tests are underway.

Officials said that the Peeragadhi incident is similar to the cases in Firozabad and Dholpur. In Firozabad, two people died after eating poisoned laddus served by Fakir Baba. A similar case was also registered in Dholpur.

Delhi Police confirmed that they are coordinating with the police of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan to get a complete picture of these crimes and to find out if there are more victims.

A complaint filed in Firozabad sheds light on his modus operandi. The complaint was filed by a person named Ram Lakhan in May 2025. One of his relatives’ sons was in contact with Fakir Baba. The Baba claimed that he could exorcise demons and solve personal problems through pujas.

On May 8, 2025, the Baba took the young man to his home. He had promised that all his troubles would be removed through mysterious pujas. But the body of the young man was found the next day. Glasses, laddus and puja paraphernalia were found at the scene. The police conducted a post-mortem examination.

The complainant has alleged that Fakir Baba had poisoned him and incited him to commit suicide on the pretext of performing puja. Currently, investigations are underway in all six cases.
