Bahrain: The Indian Club Onam Fest’23 came to a successful conclusion on Friday 29th September 2023 with the Indian Club Onasadhya Feast.

More than 2,000 taste lovers, including Members, Guests, Sponsors & more than 100 low income workers, sat down together to enjoy a sumptuous banquet of 29 items. The feast was prepared by chef  Jayan Sukumara Pillai, specially flown in from India to make this grand gala lunch.

The traditional Onasadhya feast was inaugurated by H.E.  Vinod K. Jacob - Indian Ambassador to The Kingdom of Bahrain along with H.E.  ShazryllZahiran(Ambassador of Malaysia), H.E.  Tirtha Raj Wagle (Ambassador of the Republic of Nepal),  Abdulrahman Mohammed Juma (Bahrain India Society – Chairman),  Yousif Lori (Director of Information & Follow up at the capital Governorate) & past presidents of The Indian Club.

The Feast started as planned with all the preparation & safety measures. A veritable army of Club Members and volunteers, all wearing traditional costumes; worked tirelessly to serve the guests and to keep the schedule on track. 

The Onam Fest’23, was a series of programs conducted as part of ONAM Celebration, which included of a number of traditional competitions and variety of activities like the Onapudava Competition, Payasa Mela, Natyolsavam 2023, Nadanpattu, Thiruvathira Competition, Folk music & Fusion band by Aaravam Bahrain, Pookalam Competition, Tug of War, Ghoshayatra competition, Musical night by  Roshan, Arun Gopan, . Kirthika & Team.
