Mumbai:  The Christian Chamber of Commerce & Industry held its 25th Annual General Meeting at the Ruby Hall, Hotel Kohinoor Continental, Andheri East, Mumbai on 30th September 2023, Saturday. It was chaired by the Chairman John Mathew along with the Board of Directors.

The Founder Chairman Mr. Vincent Mathias, the Vice Chairmen Adv. Pius Vas and the immediate past Chairman John D'Silva graced the occasion and were seated on the dais.

John Mathew welcomed the gathering and lauded the immense contribution of the Directors and the Conveners, financially as well as with their time and effort in this journey of the 25 years of the CCCI. He acknowledged the generosity of all its members with respect to the growth of the CCCI. The Chamber has conducted many Seminars, addressed by eminent speakers, so that the members could be updated on the latest developments in the field of Health, wellness and business. This helped in establishing a business and professional connect with all the members.

The audited Financial Statement of the Company for the Financial Year ended March 31, 2023 and the reports of the Board of Directors and Auditors were adopted and considered unanimously. The same was proposed by Antony Sequeira and seconded by Joseph Rozario.

The ratification, admission and acceptance of 10 new members enrolled during the year, was proposed by  Stanley Lasrado and seconded by  Lawrence Coelho.

John D’Silva was off the view that in the light of the immense success of the G20 summit in India, the focus of the CCCI should also change accordingly so that the community can benefit from the same. The younger generation should be mentored and guided in their decision making and financial assistance provided to them to set up their business. John D’Silva proposed an exhibition to showcase the products and services of all the CCCI members.

Vincent Mathias seconded the views of  John D’Silva and stated that the Chamber should encourage the youth to set up their business by providing them financial and moral support. It is very important that the next generation be more involved in the business. It is very necessary to give them support and guidance.

The Directors  Lawrence Coelho,  Gregory D'Souza, Co-opted Director  Lawrence D'Souza, the past Chairmen Anthony Sequeira and other members were present at this occasion.  John D’Silva was felicitated by John Mathew,  Vincent Mathias, and Adv. Pius Vas for his immense and valuable contribution to the chamber.

A minute of silence was observed in the memory of Freddy Mendonca, the Past Chairman of Dimensions, who expired recently. The meeting concluded with a prayer by the executive secretary of the CCCI Mr. Rohan Tellis. The meeting was adjourned by the Chairman  John Mathew.

After the AGM, there was a presentation conducted by Dr. Sharon Soans of Smile style Dental Clinic on the latest trends in dentistry. Augustine Mendez spoke on Business Risk Management, followed by a presentation by the CitizenCredit Coop Bank, AGM Sales and Business development:  Maxie D’Souza and the Bandra Branch head  Jeanne Pereira of the Mount Carmel branch of Citizen Credit Co-op bank, on their products and services.
