Huballi, April 14: The accused in the case of raping and murdering a five-year-old unconscious girl in Hubballi has been killed in an encounter. The accused, Ritesh Kumar (35), a resident of Patna, native of Bihar, was shot dead. A PSI and two staff members were also injured in the incident. When the accused went to arrest the police, he tried to attack the police, when the police opened fire in self-defense.

During this, he attacked the police.
Three policemen were injured when the accused attacked the police. When Ritesh tried to escape, Ashok Nagar PSI Annapurna first fired in the air. When the accused did not budge even then, the PSI aimed directly at Ritesh. Kamuka fell down near the Tarihal underpass in Hubballi. The police killed Kamuka at 6 o'clock after the crime.
Hubballi people were outraged:
Earlier, the people of Hubballi were outraged against the psychopath who murdered the girl. Thousands of people gathered near the Ashok Nagar police station. They tried to lay siege to the police station. They staged a sit-in near the police station. As the protests intensified, Hubballi-Dharwad Commissioner Shashi Kumar visited the spot and offered his condolences to the family of the deceased girl.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi condemned the girl's murder case. He demanded that the government should take law and order seriously. There should be a strict punishment system in the law. Minister Zameer Ahmed also said that such incidents will increase while waiting for the court's order.
