Karwar, December 17: Last year, a vulture with a GPS transmitter was found near Karwar. It was a cause for concern. Now a similar incident has recurred. A seagull (sea bird) with a Chinese GPS tracker was seen in the Kadamba naval base area on Tuesday. The seagull with the tracker was found by forest officials. This is currently a cause for concern for the people. The incident took place in the limits of Karwar city police station.

Chinese GPS tracker found: Police in riots

The cold has increased in Karnataka. However, only the coast of Uttara Kannada district has a warm climate. Therefore, seagulls are seen more often. A Chinese GPS tracker has been found in the migratory seagull that flew in. The police are also worried after seeing this seagull bird in the Kadamba Naval Base area of Uttara Kannada district.

Currently, the Karwar police are gathering information about this tracker. The GPS tracker is marked as Eco-Environment Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is said that the GPS tracker was installed to survey the movement of seagull birds, their diet and migration.

Currently, the seagull bird has been shifted to the Marine Forestry Department office, and the forest officials are contacting the Chinese academy. The area where the seagull bird was found is near the naval base, and the naval police have started investigating this matter.
