Udupi: If we individually develop eco-friendly practices in our daily lives, we may collectively make an impact to arrest climate change, said Prof Jayant Mahajan, who has been cycling throughout India to create awareness of climate change.
Interacting with the students of Gandhian Centre for Philosophical Arts and Sciences (GCPAS) and Geopolitics, Prof Mahajan, who has already completed 2000 km of cycling starting from Gujarat along the coast, said climate change is a huge challenge as the forces causing it is very powerful. “We need to implement certain policies- both individually and collectively,” he added.
Prof Jayant Mahajan, who is basically from Pune, is currently teaching at Christ University, Bengaluru. He intends to cover another 18,000 km cycling along the Indian border. Prof Mahajan shared his experiences of noticing forest cover disappearing along his route. The GCPAS Head, Prof Varadesh Hiregangee, Dr Dhanasree Jayaram, and others participated in the discussion.
