Hema Naik president Sahitya Sammelan also spoke and congratulated all the literary enthusiasts. Said "Konkani literature was created with the intention of proving that Konkani is the language of the masses. Basically, literature has a political ring. Because it is a medium of expression of ideas and if you look at the history of Konkani literature, Konkani literature was formed in a strong political structure. Konkani literature and movement should not be separated. The depiction of the masses that Pundalik Narayan Naik brought to Konkani literature, the types of literature he created had an impact on determining the scope of Konkani literature. The Konkani movement gained a global perspective. Konkani plays, novels and stories began to be evaluated at the national level. The foundation of the progressive ideas in which national literature was being created began to be reflected in Konkani literature.
Ravindra Kelekar said that the Konkani writer is the former fighter' This statement had a strong political background, a Konkani writer does not write only for awards but he is a catalyst of society he is the voice of socially active and struggling society. In his 1987 presidential address to the conference, Bakibaba Borkar, while discussing the political and social nature of the Konkani movement, said, 'It did not get the support of the royals and the Pandits and it (Konkani) always remained the language of the people. Therefore, it was not divided into the royal language and the majority language. Despite the colonial atrocities, Konkani survived because it received the patronage of the people, not the king.
It is very important that we are aware of this. The writer of Konkani should constantly give voice to the struggles of the people, but, a large component of Konkani is going to the system. The reason for this is that after Konkani became the official language, the subject reached schools, colleges, academies were formed and institutions started receiving grants. Today, most Konkani literary activities are produced through this system. The same conference and the same festival. To make things easier, then the same faces and the same thoughts are now being used by professors themselves to talk about creative literature at some literary events. Very few professors present different views without re OD of the system. The disurruption of the process of creating creative writers must be the creation of literature outside the established scope of the language.
During this program Sovenier of conference and 13 books were Launched by Hema Naik President of the 25th All India Konkani Sammelan. Mayabai Karangatte, Tukaram Rama Shet, Dr. Tanvi Kamath and Fr. Mayer Baretto were honored for thei achievement in the field of film, literature.
