Mangalore: 'Pala', a collection of Beary review articles written by Ismat Pajeer, published by Mangalore University Prasaranga On behalf of Mangalore University's Beary Study Chair was released at Dr. Shivarama Karantha Sabhabhavana of University College Mangalore on Saturday. 

Presiding over the event, Mangalore University Prasaranga Director Prof. Somanna Hongallisaid that Beary literature will flourish when youth get attracted towards it. Quality works should come out in Beary literature by organizing workshops and providing proper training, he added.

Mangalore University Prasaranga Deputy Director Dr. Dhananjaya Kumble, who participated as the chief guest, said, 'The number of intellectual writers on the coast is very less. It is a hopeful development that writers from the Beary Muslim community are writing from an ideological perspective these days. The critical anthology about the published works of a language is a testimony to the maturity of that language,' he said.

Beary Varthe monthly deputy editor Muhammadali Kammradi said, 'There is no activity going on in Beary Sahitya Academy, so the Beary Study Chair has a lot of responsibility. Literary conferences can be organised to boost young authors who write with interest. 

Speaking after the release of the work, the senior literati Abdul Khader Kuthettur said, 'This is the first time that a collection of articles which have been reviewed about the works published in the Beary language is being published. He said that the shortcoming of not having published a critical collection in Beary has been overcome.

University College Mangalore Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai participated as a guest. Author Ismat Pajeer spoke about the creation of the work and shared his experience. Beary Study Chair Coordinator Prof. Abubakar Siddique welcomed guests. Ahmed Bawa Padeel, member of Beary Study Chair Advisory Committee, extended vote of thanks. Lecturer Shahla Rahman mastered the ceremony.
