Moodbidre, Dec 06: Many situations in Moodbidre have already been brought to light. Despite this, it is important for everyone to understand how competent the people of Moodbidre are in claiming to be civilized citizens. Looking around, the amount of trash, filth, plastic, and waste being thrown around indicates that the Moodbidre Municipality is indeed in a very difficult situation.
The Municipality workers, work tirelessly every day, and yet, the areas they clean are filled with garbage and filth again within just a few hours. Whether it’s the Konde Road, Alva’s Health Center Road, the road from the bus stand to the market, Nagarakatte Road, or Padmavathi Kalyana Mandira Road, the situation remains the same. Many have raised awareness about this, pointing out that it is the people of Moodbidre or those visiting the town who are contributing to this mess.
Although the condition of the bus stand has slightly improved, the old, unusable water supply constructed by the Ahimsa Mitra group still remains the same, even after 15 days. No efforts have been made to fix it. The water supply pipe provided by the current MLA has also burst, causing water to spill onto the bus stand. Even if this is repaired, local people are repeatedly damaging it again. The main reason for this issue is the lack of proper lighting at the bus stand during the night.
Local people have also complained that the authorities of Moodbidre Municipality, including the President and Vice President, are procrastinating in providing proper arrangements for private vehicles at the bus stand, which is contributing to the ongoing issues.
