Mangaluru: NSS Wing of University Evening College, Mangaluru celebrated “National Unity day” on Saturday the 19th November 2022 at Shivarama Karantha Bhavana.
Resource person Dhanalakshmi Gatty, Member of the Rani Abbakka Adhyayana Peeta, Mangalore University and Ex-President of Standing Committee of Education and Health gave a motivational talk. Addressing the students as Nation Builders and giving examples of great freedom fighter Kedambadi Ramayya Gowda and Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel in whose name national unity day is celebrated every year. She gave a call to the students to be proud of our country where there is “Unity in Diversity”. She explained the importance of National Heritage and Integrity. Everyone should follow and save our age old culture, traditions, religion, good deeds and beliefs and lead our nation to a Supreme Glory.
Dr. Subhashini Srivathsa, Principal of University Evening College, Mangaluru presided over the function and advised to seek a Scope in every noble thing. Respecting good thoughts would keep our minds pure. We should be a useful Instrument of Humanity, Truth and Goodwill.
NSS Officer Ashalatha, Lecturer in Kannada organized the program. Student Gourav of II Bcom composed the programme. NSS Student leader Sr. Roopa Kamrekar introduced the guests. Prayer was invoked by Vinutha and group. NSS student Leader Mr. Jeethesh of II BA conducted the Oath of Unity. Student Sujal of II BCom Welcomed the guests. Nanditha and team sang the NSS song. Student Shreesharanya of II BCom Rendered the Vote of thanks. Teaching and Non Teaching Faculty and Students were present during the programme.
