Puttur: The Post Graduate Department of Computer Applications of St Philomena Autonomous College formally inaugurated its new Techfinity Tech Club at the P G Seminar Hall of the College. The event began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by the official launch of an IoT model prepared by the students exclusively for the occasion.

Presiding over the programme, College Principal Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro highlighted the importance of humility and gratitude in his presidential address. “No matter how high we rise in our careers, we must always honour our teachers and elders. Among the few who truly take pride in our success without envy are our teachers and parents. Even if parents may not always be as academically qualified as us, it is because of their sacrifices that we enjoy a better life. We must distance ourselves from those who mislead us and build friendships with people who shape us into better individuals,” he remarked.

Explaining the concept behind the name of the Club, he added, “Techfinity signifies the infinite opportunities offered by technology. It reflects the limitless possibilities available in our college to explore the world of technology and grow through it. May Techfinity become a boundless platform for every student to expand their potential.” He encouraged students to participate actively in all club activities.

The chief guest, alumna of the college and current Senior Technical Trainer at Subex, Bengaluru, K.S., emphasised the value of cultivating good habits during student life. “To succeed in the professional world, strong habits must be built early. Involvement in such clubs boosts our confidence and prepares us for the challenges of the industry. When we make the best use of every opportunity in college, our self-confidence grows,” she said, while fondly recalling her memories as a student and the early stages of her professional journey.
