Puttur: In commemoration of Constitution Day on November 26, St Philomena College conducted a solemn oath-taking ceremony at the college auditorium.

Principal Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro read the Preamble and administered the oath, with active participation from students, faculty, and staff. Emphasizing constitutional values such as equality, justice, liberty, fraternity, and democratic principles, Dr. Monteiro highlighted the historic adoption of the Indian Constitution on November 26, 1949, and its enforcement on January 26, 1950.

He also raised awareness of Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s significant contributions to the drafting committee. Following the program, the college community joined a Constitution Awareness March jointly organized with local government bodies. The march began at Darbe Cross and culminated at Kille Maidan, reinforcing the importance of constitutional literacy and civic responsibility.
