Recently, the government has increased the price of domestic gas cylinders by ₹50. Now the LPG Distributors Association has started a protest in front of the government. "If our demands, especially the higher commission, are not met within three months, we will go on strike," he warned.

The union's president B.S. Sharma said in a statement. He said the decision was taken at the union's national meeting in Bhopal on Saturday. It was explained that the proposal on the demand letter has been approved by members from various states. He said that he has also written to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas regarding the demands of the distributors. He said that the current LPG commission is very low and does not cover the operating costs.

The union has requested the central government through a letter to increase the commission, and to give a minimum commission of Rs.150 on the distribution of LPG cylinders. Gas supply should be based on demand and supply. But he said that even though there is no demand, oil companies are forcibly sending non-domestic cylinders to distributors.

The union called this illegal and demanded an immediate stop. The letter mentions that there are problems in the supply of LPG cylinders under the Ujjwala scheme. They have made it clear that they will go on a long-term strike if their demands are not met within three months.
