Udupi: The state government on Wednesday issued a gazette notification announcing the reservation of 58 municipal corporation, president and vice president posts, including the Udupi City municipal council.
Udupi City Municipal Council President post reserved to Woman belongs to BCA community and Vice President Post reserved to Woman to common community.
Out of 35 wards of Udupi City Municipal Council, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 31 seats during the election held on August 31, 2018. Congress party able to won only 4 seats.
