Mangalore, Dec 23 - The government has taken necessary precautionary measures to control the Covid-19 pandemic, with the need for more stringent measures to control the spread of the second wave of Covid-19 infection. Church supervisors / program organizers must act strictly to bridge the social gap so that more and more people do not join the churches of Christmas.

Public handouts and hugs are prohibited to prevent the covid-19 epidemic during the festival.

From December 30 to January 2, a special planned total gathering of people with no social gap in the club / pub / restaurant and similar areas has banned. Special DJ, dance programs, special parties, etc. But there is no restriction on the daily business of club / pub restaurants.

The New Year celebration has banned the gathering and celebration of large numbers of people in public places, on main roads and without social gaps. However, these places are not obliged to carry out regular general operations. Additional restrictions will be imposed on the respective road locations.

Seniors over the age of 65 and children under 10 must stay at home. The public must wear masks, maintain a social space, and arrange for thermal screening and sanitizer in hotels / malls / pubs / restaurants and such areas.

The owners of hotels / malls / pubs / restaurants must be careful and maintain the social gap as per the regulation of Covid-19 by mandatory government order. If necessary, arrange for people to log in or reserve space online or in a token system.


People should be provided with a compulsory social space in organized spaces such as lounges in the courtyards. Green fireworks should only be used as a government guideline during celebrations.




From a public health standpoint, the instructions and guidelines issued by the Department of Health, Police Department, Metropolitan Policy, Pollution Control Board, Fire Department and other Department / Policy / Authority must be complied with. Disciplinary action under Section 188 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and Indian Penal Code against those who violate national directives and guidelines of the State Government will be taken up on disciplinary and other applicable legal provisions, the District Secretariat said.
