Mangaluru: Present-day children follow an audio-visual method of learning. Our grandparents, who act as companions for toddlers in this busy life where both parents are working, play an important role. Toddlers imitate both the good and bad habits of their elders, said senior journalist and literature writer Raymond Dcunha Taccode at the Grandparents Day celebration at Vidya Jyothi School, Vamanjoor, Mangalore.

Raymond Dcunha Taccode was the motivational speaker and Chief Guest for the event.

The principal, Sr. Veronica Lopis, honored grandparents aged 70 and above for their contributions towards shaping a wonderful future for the younger generation.

A total of 155 grandparents attended the event along with their grandchildren from play home, nursery, LKG, and UKG classes. Boys and girls joined hands to perform on stage.

Sr. Marylit SRA, Sr. Superior of Queen of the Apostles Convent, Vamanjoor, expressed that their love for grandparents made this special day possible.

The PTA President, Naveen Kumar, shared his joy, expressing how heartwarming it was to see the happiness of the children with their grandparents. "This school is always special," he said.

Sr. Sandeepa SRA, Sr. Dora SRA, and Sr. Josephine SRA were also present at the event.
