Allipade, Bantwal: On the occasion of the Jubilee Year - 2025, the various commissions like the Word of God and Catechism commission, Family Commission, Liturgy Commission, Small Christian Community Commission, Media and Social Communication Commission and Youth Commission jointly organised a unique event ' Vatek Divo' -2025, an inter ward Mega Bible Quiz on Sunday 2nd February 2025 at St Antony Church Allipade.
The event began with the Holy Eucharistic celebration, which was presided over by the guest priest Rev. Fr Vincent Sequeira. The liturgy was conducted by the members of the Small Christian Community central committee members.
The event was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries. The parish priest Rev. Fr Robert Dsouza in his inaugural address appreciated all the participants for preparing well for the last three months reading the Bible and encouraged all to take an active part in the competition. He also wished all success to the event. He thanked all the ward Gurkars, all those who helped in making the event a successful one.
Rev. Fr Vincent Sequeira, the Secretary of the Bible Commission of Mangalore Diocese was the quiz master. With the assistance of Aron Nazareth conducted the quiz in a very organised and effective manner giving deep insights on the Biblical texts.
The quiz was organised in two rounds - the written quiz was held at the beginning for all the participants individually, followed by the question- answer in the group consists of ten members from each group. The audience was kept busy asking questions from time to time for which prizes were awarded to them.
The Prize distribution ceremony was held at the end of the event.
Rev Fr Robert Dsouza the parish priest, Naveen Moras, the vice president, Kiran Noronha the Secretary, Sr Narcisa Sequeira, the superior, Renny Fernandes, the coordinator of SCC, John Valder, the coordinator of Parish commissions and Br Ajay Dsouza were present for the inauguration and concluding ceremony.
Winners: St Sebastian ward, First runner up: Nithyadar ward, Second runner up: Sacred Heart of Jesus ward.
The remaining 4 wards were also awarded with the consolation prizes.
