New Delhi, Mar 17: India on Tuesday condemned the airstrike by Pakistan on Omid Hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan, which killed at least 400 people and injured many more.

Terming the attack as a “barbaric” and “cowardly act”, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said that Pakistan was “trying to portray a massacre as a military operation”.
“This is a cowardly act and a heinous act of violence. It cannot be justified as a military target. It has claimed the lives of a large number of civilians,” the MEA said in a sharp response.
The attack on the hospital is a heinous act of aggression by Pakistan. It is an attack on the sovereignty of Afghanistan. It is a threat to regional peace and stability, the Ministry of External Affairs has expressed outrage.
The attack, which took place during the holy month of Ramadan, a time of peace, introspection and compassion for Muslim communities across the world, is condemnable. India said it had no morals to justify the deliberate targeting of a hospital and its patients.
India expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
Around 9 pm last night, Pakistan carried out an airstrike on a large 2,000-bed hospital, killing 400 people and injuring 250.
