Udupi: A private school bus in the district overturned on Friday morning, injuring eight students. The condition of one of them is critical, police said.
The accident occurred near the Kodange temple near Saralebettu under the jurisdiction of Manipal Police Station. The driver lost control of the bus while reversing near the temple, police said.
According to preliminary information, the driver lost control and the bus overturned, police said.
Immediately after the accident, local residents rushed to the spot and safely pulled out the children from the overturned bus. Later, the injured students were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Manipal Police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating.
