Puttur: Students of St. Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, put up an impressive performance at the Division-Level Dasara Weightlifting Meet held at Mangala Stadium, Mangaluru, winning five medals and earning selection for the State-Level competition.
Drishya K.V., a III B.Sc. student, won the gold medal in the 53-kg category, while Preksha P., a II BBA student, secured the silver medal in the 61-kg category. Chameehsha, a III BCA student, won the bronze medal in the 69-kg category. Sinchana B., a II B.Sc. student, secured another bronze medal in the 77-kg category. Rithesh K.I., a III B.Sc. student, added another gold to the college’s tally by winning the gold medal in the 70-kg category.
The weightlifters were trained under coach Ashwath Gowda.
