A special assembly was organised to honour the visiting students, featuring a welcome dance presented by the school students.Addressing the gathering, Principal Rev. Fr. Rohan D’Almeida, S.J., expressed his joy at the continuation of the collaboration through its fourth edition. Recalling his visit to Milan, he shared the observations of project manager Paolo on India’s uniqueness and the Italian students’ keen interest in its diverse culture. The Italian delegates were formally introduced to the students of Classes IX to XII, paving the way for interaction and the building of new friendships. Students who participated in the previous exchange programme also shared their experiences, recalling the enriching cultural encounters, learning opportunities and lasting friendships they had gained through the initiative.
During their stay, the Italian students are being hosted by families of Class XI students, who have planned a variety of cultural activities and experiences to familiarise them with Mangaluru’s heritage, cuisine, prominent landmarks, lifestyle and local traditions. The programme offers the visitors an opportunity to experience Indian family life and gain first-hand insights into the region’s rich cultural heritage.
Rooted in the shared Jesuit educational tradition of both institutions, the fourth student exchange programme seeks to strengthen international ties, foster intercultural understanding and nurture global citizenship.
