Thiruvananthapuram: Kumbh Mela viral star Monalisa Bhonsle has tied the knot with her boyfriend Farman Khan.
The two got married at the Arumanur Nainar temple in Poovar, Kerala, amid parental obstacles to love. Kerala Minister V. Sivankutty and CPM State Secretary M.V. Govindan were present.
Farman Khan is an actor and model from Maharashtra. He met Monalisa from Madhya Pradesh on Facebook a year and a half ago. The acquaintance turned into love as the days passed. The shooting of a film starring Monalisa is currently underway in Poovar. Monalisa had come to the Thambanoor police station from the shooting spot and filed a complaint against her father.
Monalisa, who appeared at the Thampanoor police station on Wednesday (March 11), said, “I have come here as part of a film shoot. My father is trying to forcefully take me back to our village. Please protect me,” she pleaded with the police.
Monalisa and her friend from Uttar Pradesh had come to the police station and sought protection. She alleged that her father was trying to take her back against her wishes. Police said that other members of the film crew had also come to the station at this time.
Since she is not a minor, she can take her own decision. Police said that her father has already gone to their village. Later, with the help of the police, Monalisa reportedly married her boyfriend.
