Bengaluru: The heat in the state is increasing day by day, and people are turning to cold drinks, and the pockets of those who go to drink coconut water are getting cut.

Due to the heat of the sun, people are turning to coconut water, watermelon, and melon, and the demand has increased. But due to the increase in prices, a situation has arisen where people are hesitant to buy.
This time the heat is intense. The temperature in Bangalore has been recorded up to 27 degrees Celsius today. The temperature is likely to increase further in the coming days.
In the meantime, people are turning to coconut water or seeala, a nutritious natural drink, to keep the body cool. But if you look at the price, even Jebu is burning like the sun.
Coconut water has remained stable in price for the last two years, and now quality coconut water is being sold for Rs. 60 to Rs. 70.
Why is coconut water in demand:
People mostly consume coconut water for health reasons. Coconut water has many medicinal properties, and it is the only drink that is rich in nutrients and is available without adulteration. Therefore, the public consumes coconut water for health reasons.
Prevents dehydration and skin wrinkling. Coconut water has many medicinal properties such as blood pressure control, digestion, weight loss, and dissolving kidney stones.
Coconut water is supplied to Bangalore in large quantities from Mandya, Maddur, Mysore, Bangalore Rural, and Tumkur. The reason for the increase in price is that coconut water is not available in the expected quantity in Maddur, the largest market in the country.
Due to extreme weather conditions, pest infestation, and lack of rain, the yield has decreased, leading to an increase in prices. Even after paying money, we are not getting quality coconut water. We have to calculate the transportation cost, labor, and shop rent to bring it here from Maddur and sell it. So, we are currently selling it for Rs. 60 to 65, said Siddalingaiah, a coconut water trader from Ullal.
