New York, March 23: At least two Port Authority police officers were seriously injured after an Air Canada plane arriving at LaGuardia Airport crashed into a rescue truck on Sunday night, sources said.

At LaGuardia Airport (Queens) at around 11:40 last night, emergency vehicles rushed to the side of Runway 4 after a regional jet arriving from Montreal hit a fire truck, according to New York City Fire Department and CitizenApp footage.
According to FlightRadar24, the plane had traveled from Montreal and hit the fire truck while landing in New York.
According to a notice issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), all flights at the airport have been temporarily restricted. The reason for the ban is an emergency situation, and it is said that it may be extended.
The front of the passenger plane was damaged and appeared to be in a slightly raised position. The injured police officers are working with the Port Authority Police Department’s Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter Unit, which is assigned to respond to aircraft emergencies, sources said.
The plane was a Bombardier CR J-900 model, and there were about 100 passengers on board. Their health conditions are being assessed. According to sources, a group of members of the Orthodox Jewish community from the New York area were traveling on the plane.
