Delhi, Jan 09: Anil Agarwal himself shared on social media that Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal’s son Agnivesh Agarwal, who was recovering from a skiing accident in the US, has died of a sudden heart attack. In the wake of the tragedy, Anil Agarwal has announced that he will give 75% of his wealth to the society to fulfill his son’s dream and live a simple life from now on.

After the untimely death of his son Agnivesh Agarwal in the US, Anil Agarwal has reiterated his old promise to donate more than 75% of his total wealth for social service.
According to Forbes, Anil Agarwal has donated $ 3 billion, i.e. about Rs 27,000 crore. He has assets. He has said that he will donate about Rs 20,000 crore.
Agnivesh Agarwal met with an accident while skiing in America. He was undergoing treatment at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and was recovering quickly and was thought to be out of danger. But fate had other plans. Agnivesh, who was on the road to recovery, suffered a sudden heart attack and breathed his last without receiving treatment.
“This is the darkest day of my life. Words are not enough to describe the pain of a father saying his final goodbye to his son. A son should not go before a father, but this loss has shaken us,” he said, recalling his tears.
Anil Agarwal recalled that Agnivesh always dreamed of India’s development. “Agnivesh believed that India should not lag behind in anything, that our country should be self-reliant. We both shared the dream that no child should go hungry, no education should be denied and every woman should live independently,” Agarwal recalls.
For this reason, he said, he had earlier promised his son that he would give three-quarters (75 per cent) of his wealth back to society. Now, after his son’s death, he has declared that he is committed to that promise and will continue to live a simple life. He said that his son’s memory and the impact he had on society will always live on.
The Vedanta Group chief had repeatedly mentioned giving a large portion of his wealth to philanthropy in the past, and now, despite the grief of his son, he has committed to that decision.
