This cat grew up in the dementia unit of the ‘Steer House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center’ in Rhode Island in the northeast of America. Dr., a gerontologist at Brown University. David Dosa wrote about this cat in detail in his book ‘Making Rounds with Oscar’. This cat named Oscar lives in a hospital that treats Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. This white cat roams from one room to another in the hospital.
This cat was brought to the hospital for therapy in the year 2000. According to Dr. Dosa, this cat jumps on people’s beds and plays. But it settles near the bed of a patient who is about to die. Many times it goes to the room of a patient who is about to die. Even though the nursing home staff tried to send the cat to another room several times, it kept knocking on the door of the patient’s room and screaming. As soon as the door was opened, it went to sit next to the patient in critical condition.
Hospital staff, who believe in this cat’s prediction, inform the relatives of the patient who is about to die in advance. Dr. As Dosa writes in his book, many times the cat would be placed near another patient, but it would fly away and reach the patient who was near death. That patient would die that very night. Once the cat had gone and sat near such a patient. But the doctor had no doubt that the patient would die. But that patient also died. Thus, the doctor’s prediction about the future of this cat also failed.
