Andhra Pradesh: A railway staff member was seriously injured after miscreants pelted stones at a moving train in Andhra Pradesh. The incident took place when train number 12616, New Delhi-Chennai Express, was passing through Singaraygond area.



Heavy objects thrown
According to the information available, while the train was moving, some miscreants threw heavy objects from outside towards the engine (loco). Senior Assistant Loco Pilot M. Jayaram, who was on duty at the time, suffered serious injuries on his head and face.
Loco pilot admitted to hospital
Immediately after the incident, the train was stopped at a nearby station and the injured Jayaram was admitted to the hospital. Doctors are treating him and it is learnt that his health condition is stable at present.
The Railway Department has taken the incident very seriously and has launched an investigation to find out who pelted stones. The local police and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) are conducting an operation to find out who is behind the incident.
