Pune, April 08: Miss India Earth 2019 winner Sayali Surve, who recently converted to Hinduism after leaving Islam, has gone missing from Pimpri-Chinchwad in Pune.

Sayali, who had publicly converted to Hinduism, had accused her husband of abuse and ‘love jihad’.

Her parents have alleged that Sayali and her four children were kidnapped, and the police are investigating.

Sayali, a model with a master’s degree in aviation, was seemingly a woman who had it all and had changed her name to Aadya Surve just a week ago. She made national headlines by publicly converting to Hinduism with a grand ceremony.

Sayali, who had alleged that her Muslim husband had physically and mentally abused her for many years, is now missing along with her four children, and is the subject of intense debate.

What is the case? Who is the husband?

Despite family opposition, Sayali had fallen in love with and married Atif Tase, a Muslim businessman from Mira-Bhayander. She had abandoned her Hindu religion to get married and converted to Islam under the name Atija Tase.

Sayali said that marrying Atif was a big mistake in her life. After marriage, everything was fine initially. However, within a few months, my exploitation started, Sayali told the media.

I have four children. I endured all the violence for them for many years. I was abused and assaulted 24 hours a day, even though it was not my fault. Things that seemed abnormal earlier gradually started to become normal. Not only this, I was pressured to convert. He alleged that he tried to contact the police about the constant harassment he was facing, but did not get the expected response. He also called his case a ‘love jihad’.
